My 2021 Resolutions

Every year it's the same thing, we promise to stop smoking, to do sports 6 times a week and to say definitively no to Fast Food... 

So for all those who have not been able to follow their 2020 resolutions, we have decided to help you for this new year, you will finally be able to adopt new slimming habits


  1. I spend more time at the table

To avoid gaining weight by snacking between meals, we take our time at the table. It is advisable to spend at least 30 minutes at the table, this will allow you to feel full. In 1990, the average length of a lunch was 1h30, today it has increased to 22 minutes. 

There are several little tricks to help you take the time to eat breakfast

First of all, we take the time to chew, we savour each food by becoming aware of its taste and flavour

Then we give each other a real lunch break! Even if your morning meeting dragged on and ended at 3pm, take a real break. Don't just eat a small salad or a piece of fruit that will make you hungry in the afternoon. Instead, choose a starchy dish that will keep you going until the end of the day. 


  1. I get up early in the morning

According to Scandinavian researchers, the earlier you get up, the lower the risk of becoming obese. 

We often have a mountain of things to do in the morning: getting dressed, washing, taking care of the children, preparing breakfast for them... and we often forget the most important thing: having breakfast. Yet it is one of the meals not to be neglected! 

It allows us to hold on until lunch while avoiding cracking on the chocolate bars in the machine at the coffee break. 

So to start the new year off right, we get up 15/20 minutes earlier than usual and take the time to prepare a good full breakfast for our first meal of the day. Forget the industrial pastries and croissants from your baker and let yourself be tempted by home-made recipes, opting for example for cottage cheese, muesli or fruit salad.

  1. I drink water 

We can't tell you enough, drinking water is essential for your mental well-being but also and above all that of your body; but it's useless to want to drink 2 litres a day at all costs! (It is advisable to drink about 30 ml of water per kg).

Don't wait until you're thirsty to drink! Know that if you never feel thirsty, it may mean that you are one of the 50% of Europeans who, without knowing it, are dehydrated.

You should also know that alcohol is a great source of calories! So try to set (reasonable) limits for yourself at a party with friends or a family meal. 


  1. I share the household chores  

In most families, moms often have to cook 365 days a year, 7 days a week. And yet after spending the day working, we'd prefer to settle down comfortably on our couch, we'd like to do anything but spend an hour in the kitchen cooking a dish for the whole family. 

At the end of the day, we often find ourselves ordering pizza, or fast food... An easy solution may be but not necessarily for the scale! 

The solution? We share the household chores and ask the children and the husband to help out. 

For example, you can give your spouse an "easy cookbook" and list examples of recipes that he or she can make with the ingredients in the fridge, discuss together how many times a week it will be his or her turn to prepare the meal. 

And this organization is not only valid for the kitchen, you can also set up a schedule for cleaning, washing up or ironing.

  1. I shop on the internet 

The worst vice is to go shopping when you're hungry... It's hard to resist biscuits or other madeleines at the head of the gondola! 

So change your habits and opt for online shopping, you'll find that there are only advantages. 

First of all, it saves a lot of time, reduces stress and simplifies daily life. You can do your shopping directly from your sofa without having to move. It also avoids long queues at the checkout.
